Adam Simmons

I have been involved with basketball from basically the day I was born, due to my Dad’s connection with the sport. As Dad left basketball for a few years I did not have any large involvement with the club until I was 11.

As I had been using my wheelchair for most of my life, I luckily didn’t  have to learn too much chair skills as Dad had been teaching me for many years.

It wasn’t until I was about 12-13 years old that I started training fully, but even then I was unable to play in the league due to age restrictions.

As soon as I turned 14 I signed for SWBC Tigers and was happy to be able to play in the league. My first season came to and end in November because of the need for me to have spinal surgery.
After recovery from that I had the usual challenge of re-learning techniques because of the lack of mobility in my back after the surgery.

I am now very glad to be starting my second season in the 3rd Division and I am hoping to gain lots of experience. I love the fact that I am one of the youngest players in the league.

Playing Assets: Speed, agility and I hope to gain a lot more.
Position:           Not been decided yet.
Favourite shot:  Anywhere the ball goes in!!
